Before I built my first app I was depressed. My business had just collapsed. My cars were repossessed, I was $200k in debt and behind in rent. There was one day where I tried to commit su!cide twice First attempt I walked to the train tracks and was going to throw myself. But I talked myself down. Had a moment of clarity: I want to be here for my kids This pain is hard but I can endure it for them I got home and the thoughts didn’t stop. I made a plan again. This time with rope in the garage. I prayed for the first time in my life and I asked God for help. I was at the lowest point I had ever been. That night I ended in hospital. They put me in a psyche ward for the night to make sure I didn’t follow through with what I was talking about. And that night the guy next to me had 2 visitors. Alan and Maria. The people who saved my life. They talked with this guy who was clearly drug affected. They didn’t know him. But they wanted to help him. They wanted to be there for him when nobody else was. They talked about Jesus and I remembered what I prayed for. For help. And I asked them to tell me about this Jesus guy. I grew up in an atheist household who mocked religious types. Everyone in my life up until that moment always wanted something from me. These were the first people who talked with me, opened their home to me, invited me to their church And I saw something was different about them. The life I was living was hedonistic. It was getting as much as I could from the world at the expense of anyone and everyone. But they gave. Freely. Openly. With nothing expected in return. And their life was the complete opposite of mine. They were blessed. They were at peace. I wanted whatever they’ve got. Since 2019 I’ve been following the path of Jesus and learning as I go. And I don’t feel you need to preach it or ram it down people’s throats. You just live the way of Christ. And people will notice. My app business started as self expression with no intention of paying down debts or making it full time. But this little journey has netted me over $1.7m, has substantially increased the quality of my family’s life, and has allowed me to live debt free. When I started videos on YouTube my intention was never to make money. It was purely to share what I’ve learned. To reach others in that same spot I was in 2019. Sometimes I don’t have all the answers. But if I can just be there for people that’s enough. To hear these stories of people taking my advice and building their own wealth, to provide for their family and to escape debt. It really validates the reason I am still here. I’m sorry to hijack Steven’s post. And it might be that we have another baby due any day now (and I’m reflecting a lot on life) But it was on my heart and I wanted to share.

the problem with enterprise sales is it is very, very hard to teach sales training only makes you worst at it, too if take sales advice too hard, you become walking commodity (sales bro) if take sales advice too little, you waste too much time or never create urgency (ineffective) it’s having a casual, unscripted conversation with focused guardrails to identify areas of motivation, momentum, excitement — and, admitting if it’s too far off from what you can actually do sometimes it’s right there, other times you need to connect more of the dots if it’s closely adjacent it’s a lot of improv, esp because it’s unscripted and, more importantly most of the work goes into working alongside your internal peer (likely turns to friendship) to craft the 20% to their situation this means you need to also understand good deal craft & corporate incentives that 20% never looks the same; always different

First payday of my journey is Tuesday and I’ll update on my debt payments, budgets and plans then!

What defines success? And how can you replicate it? Luck, as I often say, plays an important role. I have been lucky on my own journey.
